  • Yes.

We understand that mobility can be a challenge. We regularly visit clients in Geebung and Sandgate, as well as other north Brisbane suburbs (including Aspley, Boondall, Bracken Ridge, Brighton, Chermside, Deagon, Fitzgibbon, Taigum, Virginia and Zillmere) to discuss their Will and Enduring Power of Attorney.

Please note however that there is an additional cost for this service. Please call our office for further details.

  • Our office is conveniently located less than 5-minutes’ walk from Sandgate Train Station - readily accessible for those using public transport.

  • Yes. We can organise an urgent bedside consultation to enable preparation of estate planning documents as quickly as possible.

We can visit you or a loved one at a local hospital, aged care facility or other healthcare facility. Hospitals we can visit include (but not limited to) Redcliffe Hospital, Prince Charles Hospital and Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital

Please call our office to confirm our availability. There is also an additional cost for this service, details of which can be provided when you call.

  • Our fees are higher than DIY Will kits. However, it is important to keep in mind that Will kits can be more likely to result in problems (and additional costs) down the track.

DIY Will kits do not explain succession laws in the context of your specific situation. It is noted for example that the law allows for family members (and others) to challenge Wills (e.g. if they do not believe they have been appropriately considered). There is a higher chance of your Will being challenged (resulting in higher costs to your estate) if it hasn’t been prepared considering the law as it relates to your specific scenario.

DIY Will kits may also not consider matters such as alternatives if beneficiaries or executors do not survive you. Further, Mistakes (even those typically considered trivial) can sometimes result in significant estate administration delays and costs.

We offer competitive, fixed-fee pricing for standard Wills in the Geebung and Sandgate areas, giving you certainty without the anxiety of hourly billing. Contact us for a quote, which we typically provide within one (1) business day.

  • Under a simple Will, assets will generally pass directly to beneficiaries.

A Testamentary Trust is specified in a person’s Will but is established / takes effect upon their death. A Testamentary Trust can better protect vulnerable beneficiaries such as children, provide tax benefits and provide greater asset protection.

After discussing your specific circumstances, we can provide guidance on the type of Will we think may best suit you.

  • Step 1: You attend an initial (in-person / telephone / videocall) consultation during which we discuss your specific circumstances, how you would like your estate to be distributed, who you would like to be the executor of your Will etc. Sometimes you may also want to confirm your specific instructions (e.g. who you want to appoint as your executor) following the consultation.

Step 2: We draft your Will based on your instructions and send it to you for your review.

Step 3: Once you are happy with your draft Will, we finalise it and organise for you to attend our office to sign (in the presence of 2 witnesses, ensuring your will is valid).

  • We aim to make the process stress-free. As such, please let us know (preferably) when you make an appointment or during your initial consultation, if you have any specific timeframes.

Otherwise, we typically suggest allowing 2 weeks from your initial consultation to signing.

  • In Queensland, marriage typically revokes (cancels) an existing Will unless it was made specifically in contemplation of your marriage.

Therefore, in most cases you should update your Will if you have married to ensure your assets do not fall under default intestacy laws.

  • We offer safe custody storage for all Wills drafted by our firm, free of charge. This ensures your documents are kept safe from fire, flood, or loss, and are easily accessible to your executors when needed.
